First Sea Day - Blue

Tonight we got to eat at Blue for the first time. When we arrived there were some crudités and dips on the table.

Here is the menu:

Grandma Trudy ordered creme Bruce for her appetizer. Our waiter was disbelieving but accommodating.

Ross and Sweet Pea both ordered the macadamia crusted sea scallops which were fantastic.

I had the stuffed endive, which was very tasty and fresh. The vinaigrette was perfect.

For our next course, Sweet Pea and I both ordered the blue crab bisque. We loved it. It had a nice crabby flavor and smooth texture. Our favorite part was the salty salmon roe in the bottom.

Ross had the shaved pear salad which was excellent.

For her entree, Sweet Pea had the morel risotto which was very good.

Ross ordered one of his favorite dishes, rack of lamb.

Grandma Trudy ordered a New York strip from the classic menu. She also ordered a cranberry and coconut rum cocktail, but this turned out not to be to her tastes. She thought that it was made with vodka instead of coconut rum and there was quite a bit of effort put into fixing it, but she was never quite happy with it.

I ordered the Pheasant, which was also excellent.

For dessert Sweet Pea ordered the strawberry panna cotta.

Trudy got another creme brûlée. To be fair, it really was pretty spectacular.

Ross ordered the peach crumble, which was good.

I ordered the chocolate cake which was so moist and delicious. It was one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had.

We also had a nice dessert wine.
